The NASW Idea Grant program funds innovative projects that support the professional lives of science writers and/or advance the field of science writing. Since 2010 the Grants Committee has evaluated 127 proposals, funding 30+ projects worth over $400,000. In this session, two committee members will review the Idea Grant application and review process; past awardees will discuss their approaches to winning an Idea Grant and the impact of those funds. The session provides a forum for aspiring applicants to discuss and refine proposal ideas with Committee members in attendance. We anticipate it will yield stronger, more competitive applications moving forward. Social media hashtag: #ideagrant
