How would this story be different if I changed the main character? If you're not asking yourself that question, you're doing yourself a disservice — both in terms of crafting stand-out pitches, and in terms of broadening your readership and the idea of who ought to care about science. Stories change if we tell them from the perspective of a post-doc instead of her professor, or a hospital janitor instead of a CEO. We’ll talk about how to reframe narratives, the ethical importance of examining science from different perspectives, and what we learn about our world when we do. Social media hashtag: #otherstories
