Trinity University welcomes Nobel Prize winner Carl Wieman (Nobel Prize in Physics, 2001) to speak at 7:00 p.m. in Laurie Auditorium on undergraduate STEM education (reserved seating for ScienceWriters2016 attendees). ScienceWriters2016 attendees will take a shuttle to Trinity University for a reception in the atrium of Trinity’s new science building prior to the talk (beer, wine, soft drinks, and heavy hors d' oeuvres).
The Princeton Review recently recognized Trinity's new building as the fifth-best university science facility in the nation. Guests will have an opportunity to tour the facilities with Trinity STEM faculty. The focus of the building tour and the Weiman lecture is excellence in undergraduate STEM education, to address President Obama's challenge to increase the nation's need for more scientists.
