Short science videos on YouTube and other platforms regularly reach more people than broadcast or cable TV, and the numbers continue to swell as freelancers and institutions flock to this strange new world. So how do you make informative, creative videos that really stand out?
In this workshop, we’ll dissect examples of excellent short form science videos, discuss what makes writing for video different from other media, and how to get your target audience to actually watch your videos. Finally, you’ll work with three science video producers to select a story, write a script, and storyboard your concept. Social media hashtag: #scivid
This pre-conference session has limited capacity to allow for hands-on work in an interactive setting.
