The Idea Grant program funds innovative and well-developed projects that support the professional lives of science writers (NASW members and non-members alike) and/or advance the field of science writing. Grants are reviewed at least annually and up to $40,000 may be requested. Since 2010 the Grants Committee has evaluated 135 proposals, of which 38 have been funded totaling more than $450,000. If you have an exciting new idea that you believe fits the bill, we invite you to drop by our table to discuss it. If possible, bring a written draft or sketch of your proposal so we may provide unofficial - but valuable - preliminary feedback.
