How do you evaluate whether a pitch will work for your publication? How do you tell if a story is accurate and complete if the topic is unfamiliar? When is secondary sourcing acceptable, and how should it be attributed? What makes writing lively, and how can you help a writer get there? What constitutes a cliché? How do you address unclear or otherwise poor writing? A panel of experienced science editors will offer guidance from the trenches on these and other issues editors commonly face. We’ll also get ink on our hands, workshopping ways of handling specific editorial challenges. Social media hashtag: #1stAid4Eds
