Tour of GW Nanofabrication and Imaging Center with emphasis on biomedical microscopy
Bridging life sciences and materials science research. Tour the newest microscopy and nanofabrication facility in the D.C. region. The tour will showcase state-of-the-art microscopy equipment and techniques that are producing advances in life sciences, drug delivery and biomedical sciences, with a focus on neuroscience and imaging neurons. Guests will see neurons grown in silicon wafers, learn about a new process that combines the strengths of light and electron microscopy and see how investigators generate high resolution three-dimensional images from small samples. Many demos will be conducted remotely via large screens. Wear comfortable, closed-toe shoes (longer periods of standing involved).
