Interactive workshop: How to submit a successful pitch
If as a journalist you wish to publish your stories in different outlets and in various countries, you not only have to have great stories, you have to know how to pitch them. In this workshop we will start at the beginning, reviewing the elements that every pitch should have and the etiquette you should follow when contacting an editor with your ideas. We will take a look at real-life pitch examples—the good and the bad—and work on creating successful pitches for story ideas that workshop participants are working on.
This workshop is aimed at:
- international journalists who are interested in pitching publications beyond their borders, and
- newcomers to science journalism.
Advance registration is required. Participation is limited to Latin American Regional Fellows (cost covered by fellowship) and early-career journalists (fee: $20).
