USP field trip: The science of quality standards

The science of quality standards: Ensuring the identity, potency, and purity of medicines. Learn how this scientific non-profit organization, founded nearly 200 years ago, sets quality standards for medicines, dietary supplements and foods. Eighty percent of drug ingredients sold in the U.S. come from China or India. USP scientists will discuss how public standards protect quality by confirming the identity, purity, potency and performance of medicines. Includes lab demonstration and brief museum tour. Closed-toe shoes required for lab tour.

Registration required (no charge). Limit: 15. This event is now full.
