    Mariette DiChristina oversees Scientific American, ScientificAmerican.com, Scientific American MIND and all newsstand special editions. A science journalist for more than 20 years, she first came to Scientific American in 2001 as its executive editor. She is also the president (in 2009 and 2010) of the 2,500-member National Association of Science Writers. DiChristina is a frequent lecturer and has appeared at the 92nd Street Y in New York, Yale University and New York University among many others.

    David Dobbs writes for publications including the Atlantic, the New York Times Magazine, National Geographic, Wired, and Scientific American. Several of his stories have been chosen for leading science anthologies, including a December 2009 feature from the Atlantic, 'The Orchid Children,' which will appear in Ecco/HarperPerennial's Best American Science Writing 2010. He recently moved to London to spend a year researching a book expanding on that article and serving as a senior visiting fellow at City University London’s Science Journalism MA program.

    Peggy Girshman is the executive editor for online at Kaiser Health News, a new nonprofit news service covering health care and health policy. Girshman is a prize-winning science and health journalist who has had a distinguished career in commercial and public television and radio. She is a former managing editor at National Public Radio, executive editor at Congressional Quarterly, and also worked as a producer for Dateline NBC and several PBS series. She was responsible for converging radio and digital parts of NPR News and has been part of four earlier start-up news operations.
