Before joining Science News she was cohost of NPR's health blog, “Shots,” and contributed news and features to NPR's “All Things Considered” and “Morning Edition.” She's a past president of the National Association of Science Writers, and has contributed to National Geographic, Scientific American, and the New York Times Magazine.
