Travel
Arriving by air
Hundreds of nonstop and connecting flights into Washington, D.C. are available from multiple U.S. and international cities. Attendees can choose to fly into either Washington Dulles International Airport, which is roughly 35 minutes to campus by taxi or shuttle, or Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport, which is only 10-15 minutes to campus by taxi or shuttle. (Allow more time during heavy traffic.)
There are several ways to get from the airport to the conference. Taxis and shuttles are available 24 hours a day at every airport terminal. Please note that the Washington Marriott Georgetown does not have an airport shuttle.

Via shuttle
Go Airport Shuttle and SuperShuttle, among others, offer shuttle bus service to and from both airports. Fares to GW’s Marvin Center vary, as they depend upon whether or not your trip is direct and how many people are in your party. -
Via Metrorail
Attendees arriving into Reagan National can take Metrorail’s Blue Line train directly to the Foggy Bottom-GWU station. Travel time is approximately 15 minutes, and the fare ranges between $2.35 and $2.70.
Attendees arriving into Dulles International can take Metrorail’s Silver Line Express Bus to the Wiehle-Reston East station, where they can then board the Silver Line train directly to the Foggy-Bottom-GWU station. Travel time is approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes, and the fare for the bus is $5. The fare from Wiehle-Reston East station to Foggy Bottom Station can range from $3.85 to $6.
If taking Metrorail, you must also purchase a SmarTrip card, which is available at most stations.
The Washington Marriott Georgetown is 0.4 miles from Foggy Bottom (Orange, Silver & Blue lines) and 0.5 miles from Dupont Circle (Red Line)

Washington Flyer Taxicabs serve Washington Dulles International Airport exclusively with 24-hour service to and from the airport. Fares to GW typically range between $60 and $80.
Numerous taxicab companies travel to and from Reagan National Airport. Fares to GW typically range between $15 and $25.
Arriving by train
Amtrak trains arrive at Washington Union Station, just three miles from GW’s Marvin Center. Please visit amtrak.com for schedules and price.
Arriving by car
GW is a city campus well served by public transit. Because finding parking within the downtown area can be challenging and expensive, we strongly encourage meeting attendees to ride Metrorail whenever visiting GW and exploring D.C. However, if you decide to drive, the following parking options are available:
Attendees who are driving to Washington, D.C., or renting a car and staying at the Marriott can valet park at the Marriott for $45 per night. Several other parking garages are nearby and may be used for self-parking.
On campus, Visitor Parking Garages are located at:
- Marvin Center (entrance on H street NW between 21st and 22nd streets, open Monday-Friday 7 a.m.-12 a.m., closed on weekends and holidays).
- Elliott School of International Affairs (entrance at the corner of 19th and E streets NW, open Monday-Friday 7 a.m.-11 p.m., closed on weekends and holidays).
- G Street Garage (access from both 20th Street and 21st Street NW between F and G streets, open 24/7).
- The University Parking Garage (UPG), located under the Science and Engineering Hall (entrance located on H Street NW between 22nd and 23rd streets, open 24/7).

Getting around once you're here
For exploring on your own, GW is centrally located in the Foggy Bottom neighborhood of Washington, D.C., with easy walking access to restaurants, shopping, and cultural institutions. In addition, the Foggy Bottom-GWU stop on Metrorail is right on campus less than two blocks from the Marvin Center, making your travels within the city immediately accessible. Finally, there are plenty of taxis and ride sharing options available for transportation.
