Cow to Cone field trip

Penn State Creamery Ice Cream has been a tradition for generations of Penn Staters and their guests. But there's more than meets the eye, or the mouth for that matter! Every cone of Alumni Swirl or cup of Death by Chocolate begins with the cream provided by the cows at Penn State's dairy barns only a short mile north of the Penn State Berkey Creamery. Creamery Ice Cream represents the University's agricultural roots, and remains today a symbol of Penn State pride. Tour our dairy farm, followed by a “Science of Ice Cream” presentation and hands-on activity. This experience ends with a cone (or a cup) of ice cream at the creamery, from the Cow to the Cone! Since the first stop on this tour is the dairy barns, please be aware that your footwear may get dirty and the ground may be muddy and uneven. Please dress accordingly for the weather.
