The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio
Welcome to "San Antone," a city rich in history and tradition. San Antonio is among the most popular destinations in Texas and boasts a thriving tourism industry. But our economy is more than just the Alamo and the Riverwalk.
San Antonio is home to a thriving multi-billion-dollar bioscience and health care sector. The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio was recently named the chief catalyst of this growing sector.
UT Health Science Center at San Antonio opened its doors in 1968 and has grown to five world-class schools, nine research institutes, and patient care practices with more than 125 specialties. We’re a proud part of the UT System and the leading provider of comprehensive health, dental, and cancer care, advanced academics, and biomedical research in San Antonio and south Texas.
Our research is conducted in key areas of bioscience and health from aging and longevity, cancer, cardiovascular health, and diabetes to infectious disease, military health, neuroscience, and regenerative medicine.
The Health Science Center is the leading academic research institution with NIH funding from San Antonio down to the Rio Grande.
Our passion for discovery and making a difference takes us through the translational science spectrum. Our discoveries result in medical devices and therapeutics that offer real-world solutions.
While you’re in town, come on over. We’d love to show you around our state-of-the-art robotics simulation lab that provides 3D illustration of cadavers for our medical and biomedical research students.
We look forward to seeing you soon.
